چکیده

Abstract Oncolytic adenoviruses (OAs)‐based virotherapy can regulate the tumor microenvironment, providing a rational strategy for combination treatment with other therapy techniques, such as transcatheter arterial embolization (TAE). Here, novel, validated viroembolization (TAVE) strategy—a calcium alginate hydrogel microsphere OA encapsulated (OA@Alg beads) to achieve of TAE oncolytic enhance and prolong antitumor efficacy in hepatocellular carcinoma treatment—is described. The OA@Alg beads show excellent vascular rabbit hepatic VX2 model, resulting successful occlusion arteries. Importantly, enable sustained release maintain their bioactivity extended periods while preventing shedding from site healthy tissues. Moreover, system preserves OA's ability induce an immune response, higher intratumoral infiltration by CD4 + /CD8 T cells. have potential effective embolic TAVE clinical carcinoma.

transcatheter arterial chemoembolization therapy for patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma

conclusions we showed that in treatment of patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma, tace significantly improved the disease and the overall survival rate. also, we introduce the tumor size, serum alp level, and number of liver involved segments as prognostic factors of the procedure. finally, tace can be recommended as the initial treatment for unresectable hcc patients. background ...

Ruptured hepatocellular carcinoma following transcatheter arterial chemoembolization.

Transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) is known to be an effective palliative treatment in unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Although TACE can control tumour growth and palliate the patients, complications of TACE with significant morbidity are well known and adversely affect the outcome of patients. Necrotic tumor rupture is a serious complication of TACE and has a high mor...

Necrotizing pancreatitis after transcatheter arterial chemoembolization for hepatocellular carcinoma.

A patient who developed necrotizing pancreatitis after transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is presented. A 55- year-old man had been followed for chronic hepatitis B infection for 10 years at another institution. He presented with multiple masses in the right lobe of the liver and a metastasis in the left adrenal gland. He was referred after a perc...

Transcatheter Arterial Chemoembolization Therapy for Patients With Unresectable Hepatocellular Carcinoma

BACKGROUND Although transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) has been widely used as a palliative treatment for unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), its actual efficacy and prognostic usefulness have not been clarified in past studies. OBJECTIVES The aim of the study is to investigate the efficacy, complications, and prognostic factors of the TACE in unresectable HCC patients. ...
